A list of my current recurring commitments:
I had weekly ceramics classes scheduled up until today, at which point I finally acknowledged that I wasn't making enough of them for it to be worthwhile and dropped: the combination of the 20 min each way drive late at night, plus having to lug a big bag of clay up the hill to the studio, plus having to have enough energy to be creative and stay focused for a few hours was not something I was doing well at scheduling.
Its still not a whole lot, but its not nothing ;) I also try to
rationalize that most of what I do is relatively pretty
conscious/engaging (in addition to attending activities listed, I do
a fair bit of driving to differing locations). While less true of
many of my friends than most people, I think a lot of people are able
to go on auto-pilot for a significant portion of their time at their
jobs, which makes longer hours easier to handle when not feeling top
notch.
