since it feels like I don't do anything ;)

A list of my current recurring commitments:

  • teaching piano lessons (I'm currently at 10 students, 11 lessons, 3 of which I drive to)
  • neurofeedback twice/week
  • hosting a game day and a craft day on alternating weeks
  • house dinner once/week
  • community meeting once/week (working on plans for a larger intentional community with friends)
  • hiking twice/week (okay, maybe "walking" would be more appropriate now ;)
  • prenatal yoga once/week
  • house cleaning (common space) once/month
  • prenatal visits once/month (soon to be every other week)

I had weekly ceramics classes scheduled up until today, at which point I finally acknowledged that I wasn't making enough of them for it to be worthwhile and dropped: the combination of the 20 min each way drive late at night, plus having to lug a big bag of clay up the hill to the studio, plus having to have enough energy to be creative and stay focused for a few hours was not something I was doing well at scheduling.

Its still not a whole lot, but its not nothing ;) I also try to rationalize that most of what I do is relatively pretty conscious/engaging (in addition to attending activities listed, I do a fair bit of driving to differing locations). While less true of many of my friends than most people, I think a lot of people are able to go on auto-pilot for a significant portion of their time at their jobs, which makes longer hours easier to handle when not feeling top notch.
