Due to my lack of abusing it with salt water or chlorine in recent times, my hair has finally reached "annoyingly" long. Roughly mid-butt length. I was planning on waiting to trim it until right before the wedding but have decided that its just too much of a pain to wait that long, plus it might be better to have some time to fix a bad cut rather than bet on having a perfect cut right then... especially since I don't have a dependable stylist! ;)

I normally just go to the cheapy places to get it trimmed, but I want to go all out and get some layers at the bottom, plus I get it trimmed so rarely that I don't feel too bad at the thought of paying a little extra this time for some fanciness ;)

Problem is that I'm scared of hair salons. They usually take off way more than I ask for... that's probably fine at this point in time, but I'd still like my hair to be "long" at the wedding ;) For example, last time I had it trimmed I asked them to take off 2 inches they took off 6!

Anyway... there are at least a couple dozen places just within a mile radius of my house, and I have no idea how to choose.

This is mostly just a vent, but if anyone has any insight it would be appreciated ;)

Going and scoping out each place in person is not an option: it makes me feel way too guilty to tease businesses like that and I usually end up going to the first place I walk into when I try ;)
