*light bulb*

Patri and I had been discussing how we don't really like any particular schooling option. I had a miserable experience with public school and would rather not subject my offspring to such a place, but while there are some good private schools, there are a lot of bad ones too, and its probably going to be hard to tell the difference without a lot of investment, if there even are good ones close by.

Patri'd mentioned the idea before of private tutoring. I like that idea, but it seems like a tough one to do well. Finding tutors good in all the different important areas and good at working with kids...

So just now in the shower I thought of a great idea: starting a tutoring exchange program with other groups of like-minded people. And of course... thanks to patrissimo he and I are now in contact with a very large group of local intelligent and unusual people ;)

What I think would be ideal would be to set up such a program but also with frequent and regularly scheduled social time for the kids. Tutor school?

Maybe 20% high focus personalized tutoring and 80% recess... tutors and students are paired only with consent from student, parent, and tutor...
