Been kind of tough. Big life change, consistently not getting enough sleep for my body to function happily, pms (should start tomorrow).

Also been working on applying to a teacher's association so that my intermediate student could test for certificates of merit with them, since her mom really wants her to. I'd thought I'd probably make it for provisional status, but as it turns out, they have a point system for deciding whether or not they'll accept you, and I'm nowhere close.

I suppose this speaks in their favor that they don't just take any person off the street who says that they're a piano teacher, although its a shame that they rate based on courses taken and degrees as opposed to how good one is: I think I'd do well on a proficiency exam, or at least that I could quickly learn parts that I needed to but didn't already know ;)

But still, it probably wouldn't hurt me to take some courses. Maybe its time.

Oh well. The saddest part is that I'll probably loose the student: her mom really wants her to do this testing stuff, so she'll have to register with an official association teacher. I really like the girl. (even if I took some courses it probably take me a good year or two to do enough to qualify)

But it is just one student. And it is nice to be able to do things my way and not have to work around an organization. And I may get an opportunity to check out the organization or one like it at a later date when I have more experience and/or classes that I can list.
